Exchange of presents

Dr. Thiele (on the right) presents the First Mayor a special 3D-Photo. It also shows the county of Heidenheim, as taken from space during his shuttle mission on 11 - 22 September 1999.

As a return present Dr. Thiele receives from the First Mayor a bronze mini sundial with engraved dedication as a memento of his visit.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Dr. Thiele stores in the gnomon of the sundial a capsule with a foil of the 3D Photo from space.
This capsule was made by Azubis of the company EPCOS, Heidenheim.
According to an old tradition it will be sealed inside the gnomon for posterity.
