A dream comes true !

The day had come on September 11th 2000:
The groundbreaking takes place at the border between the two cities
Heidenheim and Schnaitheim, with the active participation of their citizens.
Many media are represented. Among them also "Radio 7" from Ulm, and a team of the "Video Friends of Heidenheim", which is producing a documentary on the origins and creation of this masterpiece for the City Archives.
 

 
Already at the winter solstice, the astronomical start of winter on December 21,
the giant sundial will be handed over to the city of Heidenheim.

But till then there is still a lot to do!
 
 

Construction is proceeding with giant steps. The intervention of the geodesist is called for continuously to guarantee the accuracy of the installation.
Already after the first week one can see the progress.

In the meantime the gnomon is measured again as accurately as possible in the Althammer workshop.
