The Maypole Festival in Schnaitheim is without doubt the
most important milestone in the Sun Dial Project.
Its acceptance by the public has now been assured.
First Mayor Bernhard Ilg has three important messages:
- The current amount of donations has reached the sum of 90,000.00 DM (or approx. 45,000.00 US$).
- The start of the construction has been set for September 6 2000.
- A strictly kept secret can be disclosed now:
- Dr. Gerhard Thiele, the NASA astronaut born in
Heidenheim, has confirmed his visit at the end
of May.
