The giant sundial is handed over to the city of Heidenheim on December 21st, the day of the winter solstice.
In the picture, First Mayor Bernhard Ilg is keeping the fresh baken "watchkey" in his hands, while, at the microphone, Hans Zag is returning thanks to him.
The erratic block in the foreground symbolizes the planet Venus.
Here you can see again a model as well as an aerial picture of the unique masterpiece, which stimulates the consideration.
